Reviewed on July 27, 2010Apple has elected to keep its iMac firmly grounded as a productivity device. You'll find few home entertainment conveniences in Apple's new iMac, and you can find larger screens in other all-in-ones for less. Few will offer performance like this iMac, though, and none looks as pretty, which makes it easy to recommend for general-purpose computing and for the design conscious.TAGS:Apple iMac, Apple Computer, graphics chip, HyperThreading, SD card, CPU, Intel Core 2 Duo, Apple Macintosh, component, games, Intel, PC, Microsoft Windows
Reviewed on June 28, 2010Belkin's AV360 iMac adapter edges out the competition by making it easier to connect HDMI-based video components to your iMac's Mini DisplayPort. We'd prefer that Apple had gone with HDMI in the iMac to begin with, but until it makes that switch, this is the adapter we'd pick.TAGS:Belkin Corp., Apple iMac, HDMI, home video, adapter, cable box, resolution, input, Blu-ray, Apple Computer, video
Reviewed on October 21, 2009Apple's new wireless Magic Mouse gets a sleek makeover and even has multitouch controls, but it's better as a portable laptop companion rather than a full-size desktop accessory. The swiping gestures add interactivity to Web browsing and media, but the awkwardly narrow single button design leaves us reaching for better mice from Logitech and others.TAGS:mouse, Apple Computer, Logitech, Apple iMac, button, Apple Mac OS X, battery, Apple Macintosh
Reviewed on August 11, 2008Apple's smaller-scale iMac remains our favorite all-in-one. And while its looks, its ease of use, and its performance are all selling points, Windows PCs are starting to catch up (at least with the latter). A few components could also stand an update, but in general you'll find the 20-inch iMac a remarkable computer for its price.TAGS:Apple iMac, Averatec, Apple Computer, Gateway Inc., hard drive, HP, Microsoft Windows
Reviewed on August 6, 2008In the Windows world, Logitech's diNovo edge easily beats its clunky keyboard competition. Against Apple, it stands out a bit less. The Mac Edition of the diNovo Edge is still a better keyboard overall than the iMac's default model, but not enough to justify its high price.TAGS:Logitech, keyboard, Apple Computer, Apple iMac, Apple Macintosh, key, Bluetooth, Microsoft Windows
