  • Wow it's interesting to watch Duracell try expand its product line with the charging pad. Wonder how well/popular that product is? In reply to: "Crave giveaway of the week: Duracell Smart Power goodies"

  • From the older post:
"For example, the Pavilion has a 2GHz dual-core processor, as opposed to the Dell's 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor. Real-world difference? Not much."

Uh, there IS a real-world difference between the Pentium D processors and the C2D processors. You'll notice the difference with basic and advanced usage alike including email, web browsing, office applications to audio/video management/creation.

For $80 more, I'd definitely look for something more in line with the Dell deal. It's not that hard to find a C2D spec, especially on a desktop replacement (smaller = more money) at a low price. If anything, that's what consumers SHOULD be looking for instead of buying 4+ year old tech.

Again, this is an OK deal, but there are definitely better ones to be had. In reply to: "Get a 16-inch HP notebook for $499.99"

  • I wouldn't know much about wear and tear from the elements over time since my camera and lenses just recently became a year old. My telephoto did die due to some defect and it's in the working warranty process--kind of doubt it was due to wear and tear from the elements. I wonder if this practical or not. Higher end bodies usually advertise being resistant to the elements more often than lenses do, but I haven't heard any stories of lenses going dead because of the conditions. If a body went bad, it was usually due to extreme circumstances, but even so, most shooters are usually careful and prepare ahead of time for their anticipated shooting conditions... • Frickin Best Buy. When I heard that they were purchasing Napster back when I was employed there, I lol'ed because they weren't able to grow their original music service to that size on their own and had to resort to buying a third-rate distributor.
They'll be in the game with that move, but in terms of success and innovation, they're not going to offer any with thinking like that.

As for the deal, go back to buying CDs you cheapskates. Or stick with the other services/alternatives (there are a ton of streaming services that stream to your workstations/mobile devices for free as long as you have the data connection *hinthintwhatyoushouldspendyourmoneyonmaybe??*)--I want to see the least innovative of the bunch (Best Buy + Napster) barely get by with the left over crumbs. • You definitely need to rethink your morals and how you think this world runs. If you're so concerned about another's success, why don't you join the Communist party for the USA so we can ship you back out to a country of your liking?

If someone has a very good product and a target audience with a count in the millions, of course they're going to make money. The question is, could you do the same? That's capitalism. Who cares if they get rich--they deserve it for being able to think of what the consumer wants (even though there's a lot of crap music floating around 'in the clubs').

@a13xx94: Please think a little harder: How many people make up the "corporations" you speak of? Now think about how many people are in the "artist" catagory. Now take whatever share per CD or digital track and divide it with those numbers with whatever multiplier you want to apply regarding units moved.
At the same time, do you think it's EASY managing the production, post production, distribution, and other processes necessary for the success of the product along with the over head costs?

If the artists felt they weren't getting their fair share, they'd do something about because they're almost their own bosses. If there were some injustice regarding the people *ACTUALLY* involved, then it would be brought up to shareholders and fans a like. Who are you again? A fan? A share holder? A customer? Do you think its wrong to make a living managing other's talents? I couldn't hear artist being forced to sing or produce the most recent CDs I've bought. Did I miss something?

It's good you purchase the stuff you like, but please don't make misguided comments like the one you just did. It'll only make the pirate fanboys get excited in their pants. In reply to: "Napster's latest: Best music-subscription deal ever?"

  • The Dell you're kicking yourself over is $20 more than what it was listed for here. If you ask me, it's still a good deal and should be considered. If anything, you could go wandering around for some electronics discount coupons for Dell to make up for it... percentage discounts make more sense on a bigger base price, so... go for it!

  • A smartphone may not necessarily fit into someone's lifestyle. You also have to take into consideration whether or not you want to be draining the battery listening to music.
The Sony X-series is pretty much approaching the market with a similar angle to the iPod Touch. If people don't want a smart phone or iPhone but still want a feature packed, [better sounding] PMP, the X-series would be there to fill the void.
AND to be realistic here, the Touch/iPhone pretty much are the only ones that can compare to the X-series well. Other high-end smart phones will be unlikely to offer the same performance these two can offer, and other than that, you have Samsung's P3 which doesn't have the same feature set, or the Cowon product line which tends to miss a lot when it comes to landing an awesome all-around product.
I like the iPhone because honestly, no other phone out there can compare to it as an ultimate portable productivity/fun device. But I wouldn't use it (or the Touch) for music--at most, maybe videos, but the sound output's just not impressive at all. When the 3rd generation iPhones come out, I'll be sporting that and a P2/P3.
