  • I can't believe that the lady did not know that 3D is active shutter or polarized tech. Shet hought it was red and blue. No wonder she thinks it will be uncomfortable. Cardboard is uncomfortable. She does not tnink it will work because she does not know what it is. Somebody should have briefed her on 3D before she sat in front of thousands of viewers to discuss 3D. I am shocked. This is tech website, not teach me about tech. Anyway, I am trying to be as nice as I can be, but this shocked me. In reply to: "What to expect at CES 2010"

  • Why would you get a warranty and then get a loaner while your laptop or camera is being repaired. You dont want your personal info on the loaner. Your programs, files, pics, videos etc. So lets say you have a loaner for two months and get yours back, now what, transfer all ur garbage back to ur laptop, what a hassle. And deleting your stuff from a loaner is not easy, you have to erase all data on HDD to really make it disappear. Think about it, its not worth it. Stop being a worry wart and dont buy warranty, In reply to: "FAQ: Should I buy that extended warranty?"

  • Well, there's a reason to ditch the glasses. Plus, you'll probably get more dates if u switch to contacts and look better no matter who you are. I've done the same and no more cleaning, every 5 minutes, storing, carying. If you wear contacts, those 3 glasss wont bother you anymore. In reply to: "Acer's 3D-capable Aspire laptop leaks"

  • "In fact, some of the racing landscapes are so detailed that they begin to look more arcade-like than photorealistic." What does this mean. The whole idea is to look as real and photorealistic as the real track. Most tracks are based on real life tracks so I dont get how they could look any different . I like forza and I own both systems but the graphics could be better.. It looks like a video game rather than real footage. Forza 3 producers always brag about millions of polygons on the cars and all that but if you look at GT5, the cars look better. GT5 never mentions the polygon count and all that but the proof is in the pudding. Speaking of graphics, even though the cars look great in Forza3, the background and the tracks look cartoonish. There is a clash between how the track looks and how the cars looks, Gt5 nails this. Itnever feels out of place, you dont question it. In Forza3, I ask myself the same question when I was playing Forza2, "what happened to the course, it does not look that great.. Anyway, my impression. • This would be a very useful articel if it was on yahoo or some major website. Since this is a techie website, most people that visit this site already know a thing or two about what to buy and where to go to save money. The average Bear needs to be able to make smart purchasing decisions and they sure as hell dont go to cnet.com. I learned long time a go that monster cables are a scam because when it comes to digital signal cables it is very simple, the picture either comes on or it does not. Anyway, just put this article on yahoo.com and save walmart and kmart shoppers a lot of money (nothing against those stores). In reply to: "7 things electronics salespeople won't tell you"

  • This is America people. I can buy it, but that would be the only thing I buy all year, so why? People in this country have money. There are 50 states and 300+ million people. There are early adopters who spent like $2,000 on an 11inch OLED. So why not spend 5,000 for a thin plasma that is the coolest thing yet. They will sell, and maybe when they get to be around $2,000, I'll buy it. In reply to: "World's sexiest plasma gets ugly price tag: Panasonic Z1 will cost $6,000"

  • I truly believe in Philips products. I own a 42" LCD 120hz 2ms 1080p TV and it is the best picture I have ever seen. This thing is way ahead of its time. Thanks to the perfect pixel engine and smooth motion, there is nothing out there that can compare to the clarity and depth of the picture. Forget oled and thin is in, check out one of these in person playing a blu ray movie (this is a mus) and you'll see what I am talking about. I love samsung and sony too, but this tv is great. • I understand that blu-ray is not justified yet for some of you, but I reccommend you go to your local best buy or circuit city and see a blu-ray movie on a new samsung or sony 120hz tv. it will change the way you watch movies and you will want to own every movie on blu-ray. Some people think it looks too real, but is there really such a thing. I watched the Pirates of the carribean yesterday on my philips 120hz on blu-ray and could not believe what I was seing. Anyway, check it out. In reply to: "Which DVDs will you rebuy on Blu-ray?"
