Looks like the vehicle navigation units are lagging behind in the tech sector. It's incredible, but my Iphone does everything that my AVIC Z2 by Pioneer does and more. You would think that given the technology that's currently out there that one of the manufactures would step it up quite a bit and really offer something unique.
I'd actually like to see Apple produce a vehicle Navigation unit that has all of the capabilities of the present Iphone. In fact all they would have to do is increase the size of the Iphone screen to fit a double din, add XM radio or OnStar like features and it's a done deal, especially since there's internet connectivity. They could even add a few other features that would really just enhance the Iphone, and then call it an INAV. I would gladly pay 2k for this kind of service integrated into my vehicle.
CAN YOU JUST SEE THE FUTURE AND POTENTIAL OF SUCH A DEVICE. IPOD, INTERNET, IPHONE, Door to Door NAVIGATION, WEATHER, EMAIL, WIFI, XM RADIO, Voice Activation, and Better integrated BLUE TOOTH with volume control of the phone conversation on the vehicles speakers. Put me on the list of purchasers. I'll order one today and even charge it.
A device like this would make my job as a contractor so much easier. We like to work hard, play hard, and travel in my truck with my Giant Pooch. I drive about 42k miles every 6 months.
