Do you really need a contrast ratio of 1,000,000 to 1? Where's HDTV in 3D? I'd rather have that. In reply to: "Sony to introduce first OLED TV in U.S."

Lame. Not much different from what's on the market now. Seems the only difference is the price point!
Very dissappointed in the Home Theater stuff at the CES. I'd still rather make my own HTPC with the components I want.

Why pay $500 upwards for a virtual surround system? Buy an amp with HDMI passthrough. Other than the fact this sytem is sleek, as a single soundbar, that's the only appeal for me. That's the only reason I might buy it, only to be returned later for bad sound quality. In reply to: "CES 2008: Home audio"

The Harmny Remotes are great. I fear this remote will be out of reach, price wise, for most consumers. Their top of the line, that's been out for a few years now, retails for $500. In reply to: "Logitech Harmony One: Supercharged Harmony universal remote"

hopefully it will help Viziio's mosaic picture quality. Their contrast ratio is very low. In reply to: "Vizio unveils plasmas with built-in HQV"

Having HDMI inputs is nice, as long as the passthrough is digital and not analog. I'd prefer optical inputs to connect my HTPC. Still rather build my own HTPC as the retail companies still don't get it. In reply to: "New Pioneer AV receivers sport three HDMI inputs"

Don't Buy an HD DVD if You Only Have Analog TV
If you don't have an HDTV don't buy any HD-DVD's or Blu-Ray DVD's. Although in 2010 you'll be forced to buy an adapter to pick over the air digital as analog will be history. You'd comtinue to buy the standard DVD's. It will be a very long time before HD-DVD and/or Blu-Ray is the standard for DVD's. There are too many issues with hardware compatablilty and reliability of HDTV's in general. They are poorly manufactored with parts that tend to fry very easily.
