  • @Renegade Knight: Actually the Vista launch was hugely flopped by the fact that hardware manufacturer's didn't create device drivers for their hardware like they were asked of by Microsoft. It had the same hardware/software compatibility issues that XP did. Just like XP it didn't become completely stable until SP2. Then again Windows 7 didn't have none of these issues due to a mature device library and not changing the device model by any significant amount. In reply to: "Understanding Windows 7's 'GodMode'"

  • Well the problem is that like other potentially offensive and/or endorsing words they get over used. Not just that but they are used in the wrong way in most cases. In reply to: "Should 'nerd' and 'geek' be condemned?"

  • At this point it is too late to get a PS3 for me. I have too many games for the Xbox 360 right now. I think I counted over 20 not including downloaded ones via Arcade and Games on Demand. I have a few primaries that I play for extended periods of time and the rest are there to fill in time gaps when I get tired of those. If I get a PS3 then I have no real gain there. I may buy one or two games and that would be about it. I would like to get FF13 on PS3 rather than X360 but if that was the only purchase then I might of well gotten it on the X360 and been done with it. Squaresoft has been a very reliable company so I am sure the port will be fine. In reply to: "BioWare: Japanese RPGs don't get American audiences"

  • Yea. My bank used to run the username and password through a small series of redirects. I found the one where it was actually auth'd and what the parameters were. At that point I was able to create a url to automatically login to the bank site. They use pseudo 2-factor auth now so it isn't so easy but still... • @Perry_Clease: Actually if you read the article again you will see the part where it specifically states that the warranty was void due to cigarette smoke. In reply to: "How smoking can ruin your Mac"

  • @Perry_Clease: A monopoly is definitely illegal when the act is anti-competitive. Microsoft as a monopoly is illegal. Apple is not a monopoly. They just have some very restrictive agreements (which I don't necessarily agree with). In reply to: "Judge rules for Apple in Psystar case"

  • @SteveW928: Actually I thought that it was found that if the EULA was only presented during the product install then it was non-enforcable. Not everyone is going to know to look at the Apple site for the eula copy and I don't believe there is a printed copy included. In reply to: "Judge rules for Apple in Psystar case"

  • IOBit is stealing from a company that provides their anti-malware software for FREE. You can get a better version for a price but I have found that the free version does a very good job for those of us that run manual scans on an as needed basis.

Oh and Malware Bytes isn't the first company to plant fake "tracking" definitions in their sets. I do think that Norton and McAfee does the same thing. In reply to: "Malwarebytes accuses rival of software theft"
