Actually, the Squeezebox handset/remote contains both a DAC and an IR blaster. They are currently disabled, but it is potentially easy to enable both these features. This would mean that the remote becomes incredible. And, with the headphone jack on the remote, the remote becomes a defacto iPod. In reply to: "Logitech's Squeezebox Duet: Sonos for the masses?"
