Yes but I'm sure the first million, second million, and third million cars sold by the maker that made the first successful commercial car was announced. Your analogy actually disproves your point.
3 billion is very impressive and newsworthy. Plus it was in the title when you clicked on it. If you don't want to read it, don't click on it. A lot of these are click attractions and by clicking and commenting, you're just proving that it's working.

It's very impressive. For mobile applications for which there was no significant market a couple years ago, 3 billion is an amazing figure. In reply to: "Apple's App Store tops 3 billion downloads"

I can see these exploding in popularity and frankly I'm surprised that nothing like this came along sooner. Maybe not this brand (depending on the quality and price) but this concept is going to go big this year I think. In reply to: "Snow Camera Goggle snaps your skiing exploits"

Also, most digital cameras run a small primitive form of an OS which needs to be stored somewhere. In reply to: "Snow Camera Goggle snaps your skiing exploits"

I'm really looking forward to seeing these out there. Hopefully that means we can finally retire firewire and get some of the functionality of it into USB. Even if not, it will still be awesome. :) In reply to: "VIA launches world's first USB 3.0 hub controller"

Again, seems like a lot of wasted space on the bottom. This just doesn't make sense in today's market. In reply to: "Samsung W1 MP3 player wants you to get fit"

Seems like a lot of space wasted in the bottom. I might be seeing it wrong but it just looks like a lot of space with a few buttons that could have been squeezed into a lot more space. With mobile, and especially touch screen devices, screen real estate is everything and they're giving up a lot with no substantial payoff that I can see. The transparent screen is cool, but for now I don't see the usefulness. On a larger scale, such screens could be very useful. I can think of a few uses right now while checking in machines for repair....being able to look at the customer while filling out their info through the screen would be especially handy. I don't see any reliable sources...aka Apple...behind this. If anyone at Apple actually lets this kind of info out, it'd be their head. I think people just want to get their news read and so they make stuff up based on educated guesses. Since everyone else is guessing, after the truth comes out no one remembers all the wrong predictions. In reply to: "WSJ: Apple tablet shipping in March"

I said a some pages but I agree they have the wrong approach.
OBloodyhell, you have no idea what you're talking about. There is a huge underground of child pornographers and and even bigger base of pedophiles and rapists out there. I'm fed up with our so-called "justice" system that leaves most of them out in the street.

Futile effort on their part.
Then again, I wish we'd take some pages from their book and start cracking down on child pornographers, pedophiles and such.
