  • The REAL technology that is actively revolutionizing (and determining) future of entertainment is on-demand digital distribution.. so the 'game-changing 3D' hype for film sounds pitifully desperate at the moment unless you would like to broadcast the degree of debt your film company must have swallowed..

3D in-home could really succeed through the GAMING channel, as opposed to the motion picture channel... which really makes me want to invest in Avatar for the PS3 as well as any potential 3D advertising that results from this concept.. In reply to: "CE industry hopes 'Avatar' is a hit"

  • Since video is next, why haven't concert promoters allowed fans to stream their POV into a channel that could be used for live editing and display on stadium screens?

Then monetize the proprietary edited product before parts of it are uploaded to youtube, either for fans leaving the same show, or fans watching in realtime.. possibly watching from cellphone themselves? In reply to: "Music industry bows to point-and-shoot cameras"

  • This will undoubtedly happen with the other carriers as soon as AT&T exclusivity ends - and less w/ AT&T.... but we're only experiencing 3G networks, so have yet to contend with standards (and poor reception excuses) at 4G, 5G, 25G, etc.. In reply to: "AT&T-iPhone calling woes on redial"

  • If this is the beginning of government-led oversight of P2P, in any scope, which country is going to have first dibs on the next P2P network for trading global proprietary or copyrighted stuff? Is there an international organization along the lines of ICAAN that could spawn international enforcement in the interest of an establishment or country, or at least define 'inadvertant sharing' to a global audience? In reply to: "Congress to probe P2P sites over 'inadvertent sharing'"

  • The ad possibilities for businesses/events between your location and friends are infinitely cool > imagining the in-person response to an aggressive ad pitch sent to your phone by an establishment you happen to be walking by. In reply to: "Google Latitude keeps tabs on friends' locations"

  • nice move philips - without a dominant format, you should have taken your ratio even more absurd - think 12 feet long and 1 feet high, just because you can. In reply to: "Photos: Philips ultra wide-screen 21:9 TV unveiled"

  • How would a revenue stream work w/ something like product placement via A&R (the markets that would love this will raise their hands up), selling higher bitrate formats via existing channels, higher frequency of track releases by artists (instead of the one "album" per year concept by an artist)?

...and why hasn't American Idol concept been incorporated by other markets/genres via the web to sell digital music? In reply to: "UMG digital chief on iTunes, DRM, and Android"
