  • There will never be another 911--at least not using commercial airliners. Once people on the plane know what's up, the hijackers lose. Most of the extra security measures at airports now is just for show to calm the public and keep them flying. In reply to: "Keeping Uncle Sam from spying on citizens"

  • @sm5574: "I can spend $2000 on a Mac and get a computer that works very well."

You can spend much less than $2000 on a decent Mac. Remember the performance ratio is much higher without a bloated OS and numerous defensive utilities gobbling up CPU cycles.

"They don't emphasize (or even understand) that you get what you pay for."

Yes you do get what you pay for, but how much is your time worth? How much is your aggravation at a slow, clumsy, cluttered system worth? How much is the enjoyment of using a well-crafted machine worth? There are more ways to pay and more things to value than money.

"They actually think Apple is the only viable option."

Name one other computer with the same level of design, usability and support. Basically, if you have to run Windows, it's not really an option, it's a sacrifice. In reply to: "iPhone users are delusional, consultants say"

  • @lazycat202: What's this got to do with Apple hardware? Nothing like cherry-picking tho. All companies have glitches. Apple still rates the highest in customer satisfaction...despite your endless ranting. In reply to: "Microsoft's Bing goes down"

  • @Vegaman_Dan: Ummm....duh. Google has been upfront from the beginning on how they will use your gmail entries. It's the price you pay to use their service. Entirely voluntary. Not exploitative. Not nefarious. Get a grip (on reality).
