Did Sony ever do SuperDisk? That was a 3M/Imation product with Panasonic doing most of the drives. Vista doesn't support 8 inch floppies either. What did you expect when you bought a bleeding edge format that was in mid format ware with CDr and Zip. In reply to: "Sony's $700 dSLR looks like a contender"

So lets see.. Same Price as a dated XTi.
Included Wireless flash control.. (add $160+ to Cost of Canon)
Stabilization on ALL lenses
Better Kit Lens than Canon
Sport Metering the Canon doesn't have
Dynamic Range Optimizer (Canon doesn't have)
Easier User Interface to control the camera.
And Auto bracketing that the Nikon D40x doesn't have
Ya I guess your right it doesn't quite match up.. because the paint used to write the Canon name on the front is more important that photography features ...
Simple if anyone wants to buy an entry level camera on features and ability they should look at Canon and Nikon last because they remove features that Sony, Pentax, and Olympus give you in the same range.

Why No Stats? That's scary
I don't know of a single well run project that isn't running a good bug system that can provide data on request. Dump it into a spreadsheet, and chart it.
All software has bugs, but that a team lead doesn't have a reporting process in place should worry the Linux community to no end.

I changed my mind, the rating is valid
A) The file with the nudity is included and just waiting for a minor hack.
B) The Oblivion official site provides a direct link to fan sites providing the hack.
If the hack added a new skin file AND Bethesda removed links to sites providing the hack, then they would be "innocent"
I suspect this was a clear attempt to skirt the ratings and gather the PR of having a nude hack. Got caught!! Still they get the PR and will probably sell thousands of extra copies because of this story.
Since ratings are all voluntary enforcement, I have no problems.

With Friends like FSF who needs Microsoft
At least Microsoft provides competition with products. The likes of the FSF just want to hang the albatross of OS dogma on Linux and hold it back.
If a user wants to avoid closed drivers or other closed software that is their choice. Who is FSF or Redhat to limit choice.
Odd that Microsoft has to my knowledge never suggested that users should be blocked or legally prevented from running open source on Windows, but the "Lets Be Free" guys are now about "My Way or No Way."
A few more legal threats like these and I can see vendors and key business suppliers of Linux drivers and tools wiping their hands of the whole thing.
This type of internal dogma an restriction is more harmful to Linux than and silly SCO lawsuit.

If you want choie and control Avoid Apple
I was LOL reading you post. I build my own machines so I understand wanting to control your own computer.
But then you ended with the "I might go Apple"
Microsoft lets build or buy PCS any any shape size or color, gives away or licenses its technology including letting you buy music from over a dozen sources with difference collections and bit rates, and put it one players from dozens of makers.
You think your will have more choice with a company that limits you to white or silver machines in the size and shape they choose and buying music from only thier store because they won't license thier DRM? WAKE UP
Apple is more restrictive to its users including having tried to block the one company that tried to offer iPod owners better quality downloads.
They make good products, they also make most of the choices for their users. I don't Jobs to be my computer Mommy telling me what I need.

Learn to Shop
I am a fan of Xp Pro vs Home, though the fact that you upgraded your home with a business version is not thier fault. Also shoping smart that upgrade if you insisted on retail should have been closer $500 total for three.
If you time your upgrade with any hardware buys you can get the OEM hardware each copy could have been $130-$150.
And Since XP was released Microsoft has had ZERO paid upgrades. Apple has had at least three at $120 each.
Do the math even at retail $200 vs $340....Each.
Microsoft can only offer you choices and opprotunity, they can't make you shop smart.

Huh? 21st Century Apple?
Microsoft has gotten rich on choice. Windows on PDAs, Windows on phones, Windows on tablets, Windows on micro notebooks,Windows on large screen notebooks, Windows on servers, Windows on desktops, Windows on home built.
Mac on White or Silver in 2-2 sizes.. OSX is great, tying it to Mac hardware has limited innovation and choice in hardware for Mac users.
I Wonder when Apple will join the 21st century and realize tying you OS to your Hardware is 1970's IBM thinking that keeps you from growing.
