This is not a kind of deal that DOJ should have worries about. It would encourage competition by the way of creating a 2nd ranked player that is much stronger than currently weak competitors in 2nd and 3rd position respectively. It would kickstart competition in the search arena. Also, DOJ shouldn't force unwilling yahoo management to keep investing in area they are clearly losing the market share in. Yeah, since apple is involved all fanboys will jump in to defend it. You don't have to just look at the written agreement. You can easily derived to the conclusion based on attrition and hiring data from both companies. Especially, in california where non-compete laws are void; it is easy for one company to poach employees of other company but, if there is a non-verbal agreement the hiring data/pattern would easily show. And, that is what authorities are looking into. You should go back to your mamma's basement and start playing games if you don't understand this. Haha. Ofcourse he wants to bail out. You invest in a company to make money and not to fight fake moral battles. Else, you are a dumb investor. Carl certainly isn't one. In reply to: "Carl Icahn says he favors Yahoo-Microsoft search deal"

@cvaldes1831: If you are really a msft shareholder than do yourself a favor and start using bing.com because unless people use it and click on ads next to search results; msft won't make more profit. Eventually, this will take value of your investment higher. Instead of stupidly believing in "evil" and "do no evil" kind of PR stuff help your stock.
PS: I don't own msft and don't use bing.
