  • I agree with this statement. I, too, actually read the books and look forward to a new game. (Though I thought Ghosts of Onyx was weak). I'm excited to see what new characters they will introduce. Though I may be the only person here that thinks Halo 2 is the best of the trilogy. Halo 3 was good, but I just preferred the story of Halo 2 better and a lot of the game play.

As long as the story in the new game is good, I'll be happy. I liked Halo 3, I just hope they make it better. In reply to: "Will Halo 3: Recon turn the Halo series around?"

  • Jeez, am I the only one in the world that doesn't care about play lists and such? I'm mainly interested in the apps and sound quality. If this thing gets enough development, I may be able to stop using my Japanese dictionary and only have to carry one device--especially if it allows manual input of Chinese Characters. • I'm in the market for a new laptop and sorting through all the model numbers is staggering. The thing I hate is when models are really close in specs, but have distinctly different names without specifically stating what the difference, or who the target audience is. I think Lenovo is a prime example of this right now. They have three series that are styled similarly, priced similarly and speced similarly. Wading through all the options and models takes ages.

Intel, now, has also confused the heck out of me with it's new Centrino 2 stuff because on most websites the new chip sets are still labeled as Core 2 Duo, not simply Centrino 2 because of the way Centrino works. Arrrggghhh! Think I'm gonna take the plunge on a Macbook. Those are easy to figure out spec-wise. In reply to: "PC and TV manufacturers fail marketing 101 with ridiculous model names"

  • This is the thing I can't stand about Apple. They're like a bad government that just doesn't admit when things are going wrong---they just pat themselves on the back when things go well. I've heard of numerous quality control issues for computers and whatnot that never get publicly acknowledged by Apple. It's one of the reasons I haven't yet purchased an Apple product.

But then, are the problems really not that bad? Maybe they're getting a lot of press simply because the iPhone's such a huge product. In reply to: "A freaky Friday for our iPhone 3G"

  • I have been wanting to voice this for ages: I don't care about extra content EXCEPT for maybe a "making of" documentary, and even then I don't care most of the time. I don't want to pay $30 or $25 for content I couldn't care less about. If I want to know more about the movie, I can get a lot more information of the internet...for free! I agree with the above poster: bring the price down to less than $20 and you're golden. Games?? Jeez, that's what my Xbox is for. In reply to: "Blu-ray producers question value of bonus features"

  • What I want in an PMP
Ease of use. I don't personally think the iPod is the easiest player on the market. I hate the wheel.

Good sound. Yes, I know, some people say that you can't hear the difference...yes you can...if you have a headphone amp and the right headphones.

No freakin' phone! No GPS! Don't care about these options and I don't want to pay for them! In reply to: "The future of the iPod"

  • Image quality
Interesting poll. It's obvious that the readers are probably pretty informed. My big complaint is simply with image quality. I'd prefer better quality over more megapixels. The camera companies continuously put out cameras with average image quality, even at low/average ISO's, and haven't really addressed the issue in my opinion. Besides, how many people are really going to use an ISO of 3200??? Pro's will, but I don't really think the average consumer or even enthusiast will. • I definitely agree with focusing on photo features. Focus on audio and then video. I couldn't give a rat's *** about photo features. In reply to: "iRiver W7 MP3 player hankers for directions"

  • Funny thing is, all of my friends that have upgraded haven't really had anything bad to say about Vista. The only people complaining or making fun of it are the media (like Cnet) who almost always seem to be anti-Microsoft and Mac Users. The thing that has kept me from upgrading is the fact that it's simply cheaper to get Vista with a new computer. My computer works fine for now and since Microsoft hasn't ceased support for XP I'm in no rush to change. And, if I recall correctly, a lot of people bashed XP until Service pack 2 came out. Hopefully the same thing happens to Vista. Just gotta give it time. (FWIW, I hate the interface of Mac operating systems. Give me menus any day.) • Rediculous
It's this exact, ridiculous proprietary crap that kept me from buying an iPod. Never will buy one and now I'll never buy an iPhone. Even reconsidering the purchase of a Mac Book because of this kind of stuff. And people call Microsoft bad... In reply to: "Owners of unlocked iPhones hosed by software update"
