  • I'm quite happy that someone can express their opinion on this subject openly. I don't completely agree, but I don't think you're far off. I live in the midwest so corn is a big deal here, but I think your right on that corn and ethanol production are not the answer. I think hydrogen power as far as automobiles go is an excellent option that should be much higher than it is right now. Solar power is also a technology that I think is taking off and will be used more in homes and in businesses. I think it would be a great idea to require that new construction have 50% of power come from renewable, environmentally friendly sources. Wind, Solar, Geothermal, all these technologies are proven, but still to costly to jump into. If I could buy a solar water heater for the same price or 10% more than I pay for a gass water heater, I wouldn't hesitate. These are the kinds of changes that we need to work on. • First time I fully agree with someone talking about OS upgrades right now. I did upgrade to Vista and I think it rocks. I seem to be the minority, but it's been rock solid for me. I've heard both ways on the latest Mac OS and after reading this short piece had the same moment of clarity. Maybe we've come as far as we can in funcionality of the OS. Maybe other avenues are needed for innovation in the way we work on computers. In reply to: "Leopard the new Vista? No, but it's not manna, either"

  • I totally agree on this one. The first sane person I've heard comment on Vista. I think it's a great system on new systems. I've been running it since beta(which had lots of bugs) and I've been very pleased with it as an IT admin. I think the bad press is a lot of hype. I'd put Mac OSX on par with XP. It's a good system. I totally agree on linux as well. I just ended a three week test with Ubuntu and it totally frustrated me. It's still not usable on a daily basis as a windows administrator. • Everywhere
The interface is much better, especially on the media center side of things, and it's much more stable than XP ever was. In reply to: "Where are the improvements"

  • I have tried it
I have Vista Beta 2 running on both my test machine at work and my home media machine. I'm pretty well satisfied with it, but it still needs some polishing. In reply to: "Where are the improvements"

  • This stereo is an awesome buy
I bought this stereo and thought it was just ok until I hooked up an optical cable to it with my Xbox. This thing is unbelievable. I'm sure there is better out there, but not for the price. The new version of it is probably even better as it increased from 420W to 600W. This is a no brainer In reply to: "Good with an optical cable"
