  • Am I behind in tech or is 3G graphics a new technology?

    Ok, I am a little behind, but that's not what I mean by that question. However, I'm still waiting for LTE phones before I actually think about even signing a contract for a new phone. In reply to: "Google unveils Nexus One"

  • I only subscribe to comcast's basic cable for the local channels because I have probablems picking them up OTA. It's not too bad seems how my TV has a QAM tuner and so does my PC. I might try moving the antenna over the weekend to see if that helps. If it does, I'll ditch cable and tell AT&T I want to go with the 6mbps plan instead of the 3. I'll still be $7 ahead, so anything I can't pick up witht the antenna, I can steam or download. In reply to: "Time Warner Cable shows subscribers how to cut cord"

  • There isn't going to be a chance in Hell that they'll make me walk through one of those. It's not my privacy that's at the forefront of my mind. I don't like flying, so no I'm not exposed to too much radiation and do lose tract of my phone as soon as I get home. Given the fact that when you get X-rays taken you are the ONLY person in the room is enough to make me stay out of those machines. But they do put a lead "vest" on you to (hopefully) protect you from excessive radiation. In reply to: "Can full-body airport scanners harm you?"

  • I want to be removed from the count for number of people covered by every cell phone company. No one covers me, even though I live and most stay within their coverage. I'm lucky to get 3 bars when I have unobstructed sight of a tower. My apartment in Champaign, 1 bar. Work, 1 bar. My partent in the far south Chicago suburbs, 2 bars. I was visiting family in Schaumburg, IL over the holidays, 1 bar. That's with Verizon. With AT&T and T-mobile (not even going to bother with anyone else and probably should just give up on cell phones all together), it's one bar across the board. I don't know what it is about me, but I'm a walking dead zone. So whenever a carrier states a number, subtract a number for me. In reply to: "AT&T, Luke Wilson try smaller coverage number"

  • Unfortunately, AT&T can deceptively count babies in their esitmate of number of people "covered" by their service. Just because they say there are 230 million people covered does not mean and should not be touted as 230 users like AT&T misleads people to think by saying covered. • Seems how the card was being used for medical expenses, it could be quite easy to go from having something to being over-drawn $900.

    @Vegaman_Dan's example
    I would back the customer that it was completely the bank's fault and the "excuse" the bank gave doesn't hold water. It's hard to have money in an accound when instead of depositing money the bank withdrew it. It's near impossible to forsee having an amount equivilant to two paychecks stolen from you by someone who you're suppose to be able to trust. Hopefully, BoA lost a lot of customers that heard the lame excuse that it gave. In reply to: "E-tail Scrooges and how one woman defeated them"

  • Something else the FCC and FTC should look into is the "required services" for specific phone. Especially when you bring your own or pay for the phone outright. Where do companies find the gull to demand that you HAVE TO get a data plan? In reply to: "FCC member berates Verizon for termination fees"

    You, or the MPAA, cannot say the movie industry lost money because of a leaked movie. Most people don't see movies the first day it comes out. That means they will still hear that the movie is bad before they fork over any money for a movie they would regret seeing. I wouldn't have gone see it in theater because I would have most likely had to go alone because was in the middle of nowhere and it's hard to find the time that works for other people. I didn't illegally download the movie either though, I waited for it to come out on DVD and rented it from Red Box. I regret that now, it was a bad movie. I won't review the movie here though. The ONLY argument for lost revenue is for the few people who planned on going to the theater before watching the leaked filmed. But that 14 million views is an exaggeration. There is no way that each of the 4 million downloads were even downloaded by 4 million different people, let alone each was viewed by 7 people. Many of the downloads are likely to have been corrupted during the download and a person would have had to download it again. That's not even meantioning the people who downloaded the movie but never bothered to watch it. I know very well that that happens because I've actually bought a movie on DVD about 10 years ago, but I still haven't watched it all the way through. I sit down to watch it but something comes up and I don't finish and I forget to pick up where I've left off. In reply to: "Accused 'Wolverine' pirate calls charges 'ridiculous'"

  • I'm failing to see the means by which he uploaded the movie. That the part that he needs to have internet connectivity (I'm sure he does like millions or other people who have the internet); but the access to the movie to upload it. How did a man in NY manage to obtain a movie from LA?

    I'm also failing to see how forensic marks can be of any use in the case. How many studios were working on this? This isn't like you can get a general location base on the watermark from the theater a person made a bootleg copy. In reply to: "FBI makes arrest in 'Wolverine' uploading case"

  • It openned in the Bowery District of New York City, when two German immigrants had a vision of bringing the finest tools and hardware the world had to offer to a burgeoning construction trade.

    Sorry. I figured if I'm copying and pasting, I might as well get the "why" in there, too. In reply to: "CNET Top 5 Sony Reader Touch edition giveaway - official rules"
