Makes me worry. I work from home and regularly am moving around 1 or 2 gb files from my works computer network. Also, I have no idea how much usage there is from online gaming on my 360. Sure, I can check the size of downloads, but I have no idea how much bandwidth is used by just playing online. In reply to: "Comcast's consumer usage meter still in the labs"

Both mine and my wife's 32gb iPhone 3GS have had wi-fi problems. It'll be connected and I'll be reading something online when I go to click on a link. The thing will sit there processing for quite a while, then say the server stopped responding. I know it's not a problem with the site itself, as I can hope on a computer and the site works fine. Wi-fi is still functional in my house, as my laptop didn't disconnect. Usually turning off the wi-fi on the iPhone and then turning it back on works ok, but the problem usually returns. I prefer not to have to reset the network settings, as typing in my crazy long wi-fi password (required to be what it is by my company so I can work from home) takes forever. But I'll try that and if needed the Tech Bulletin steps. In reply to: "Apple cops to OS 3.0 Wi-Fi, Bluetooth problems"

Yeah, I'll stick with using my 360, which is already connected to my receiver by HDMI for surround sound. If I were to stream anything directly to my tv, then I have to run an audio cable from my tv back to my receiver. Kinda defeats the purpose of a nice clean wall mounted setup. I would love to win, but I'm not sure of my eligibility. I'm an illegal alien. No, really, I'm an illegal ALIEN. I come from the planet Yesmar and will be returning their shortly once I complete the repairs on my ship. Of course, this might have been more useful to me last month. You see, the directions to my home planet were lost during a computer crash and I didn't have them backed up. PLEASE, help out a lost alien. Using each others upgrades works well, except when you both join at the same time. My wife and I both made the move from Verizon to AT&T (as a family plan) and both got 32GB iPhone 3GS. So our upgrades will be available on the same date. In reply to: "iPhone upgrade update: I did it, with the help of my wife"

I have to agree that this is more geared towards home users and privacy from spouses/significant others (i.e. hiding their pr0n). Any respectable company restricts their computer setup so much that you can only install things when you have administrator rights. Heck, at the company I work for, not only can I not install anything, I can't even access data on a USB thumb drive or run programs (i.e. U3) off a thumb drive. Got my 3GS 3 days after launch and have had no issues so far. I wanted to keep my iPhone as slim as possible, yet provide protection for it so after about a week or so I put on full body "Ghost Armor". It's crystal clear, very protective, and easy to put on yourself. You can't tell it's on the front at all and the back you can only tell it's on at the corners. I don't know what the big deal is. I have wi-fi on, 3 emails set to either push or fetch every 15 minutes, and use my iPhone 3GS heavily (music and movies) and I rarely don't make it through the day. However, it's easy enough to charge it using my car iPod integration...which was needed because no FM transmitter works reliably near Philadelphia (too many strong radio stations). The lack of 3G support is going to do two things.....1.reduce sales of the iPhone, Slingboxes, and SlingPlayer mobile app and 2. lead to more people jailbreaking their iPhones.
I currently have an iPod touch and had jailbroken it for a while just for fun. I plan to get a new iPhone this summer regardless of the Sling situation because I'm tired of carrying my phone and iPod touch. I never planned to jailbreak my iPhone for fear of crippling the device at some point. But now, I have all intentions of jailbreaking it so I can watch the SlingPlayer mobile over 3G, especially since you're paying for an 'unlimited' data plan.
Heck, I might even be ok with a $5 monthly charge to allow 3G access to the SlingPlayer mobile on the iPhone. As for ANYONE complaining about the $30 price, I have no sympathy for you. EVERY version of the SlingPlayer mobile has been sold for the same price and on other phones it's also been limited to Wi-Fi only. Why would you expect it to be any cheaper for this version?

I don't think I've won anything since I was about 6 years old...sometimes if it weren't for bad luck I would have no luck at all... In reply to: "Crave giveaway of the week: Nero LiquidTV"
