My comments

  • to solitare_pax: I know people who've been using the same cell phone since 2002. Are they into all the latest gadgetry? Certainly not. Can they use it to make calls, take and send a snapshot or a text and check stuff on the web? Yes they can. Going forward from now who's to say but as to the previous 8, well it rather disproves your point at least for those who can be happy using a phone that didn't cost them $500. lol In reply to: "Nexus One: Smartphone revolution still on hold"

  • Myles, this person simply having made a comparison using a different crime as an example doesn't imply the order of importance at which you've somehow arrived. They're simply pointing out that many supposed upholders of the law routinely break them to their own ends. I dare say most of us have witnessed the example sited and then some. • Fail:

No such ad when I goto Google.com, or is that why you call this column technically incorrect?

In fairness, I am running the adblock plus add-on but then again, isn't everybody? In reply to: "Google makes its home page a Chrome page"

  • Here's a thought. When you write an article about a mobile app why not mention that fact in the title so people who aren't interested can save a few minutes?

As for more stupid reasons to add redundant search engine toolbars to your browser? How about just making a widget with one icon for the locator since most people already have multiple search engine capability in the browser they're using?

And anyway, when going mobile, isn't it obvious yet that economy of space is key? In reply to: "Is convenience worth a Google toolbar?"

  • Should have read autonomous (too quickly clicked the wrong word in spell check) but come to think of it, antonymous works too!

What's the reasoning behind configuring blogs so that people are allowed to comment but not edit/delete said posts? In reply to: "The Cold War moves to cyberspace"

  • It was moronic to start utilizing publicly available bandwidth for anything of a sensitive nature in the first place. Doubly so to continue the practice. It wasn't that long ago there were intelligent enough people in charge who understood the justification for the expense of moving corporate, government and otherwise essential data via completely antonymous means.

Then everyone got greedy, cheap and just plain stupid. In reply to: "The Cold War moves to cyberspace"

  • Most every laptop I've ever used has had a dedicated subfunction key for toggling the touchpad. Holding down the combination of fn and F9 keys simultaneously, for example. The location and color of the fn key varies but is usually gray or blue and in the lower left area of the keyboard layout and the corresponding function symbols are usually printed in the same color on the Standard F keys along the top row. Lots of extra capabilities on those laptop and notebook keyboads. Worth the small amount of time it takes to learn their usage! In reply to: "Temporarily disable laptop's touch pad"

  • So does the dreaded site not found error indicate their server has been overloaded by attempts to run the test or is it a sign that the recent awakening and update to confickr infected systems has added this test site to its blocked site list? lmao

People who post these types of tests really do have an obligation to keep abreast of the situation and posts updates as required. In reply to: "Eye chart can help diagnose Conficker"
