For me, going backwards compatible from PS1 to PS2 was nice. No backwards compatible from PS2 to PS3 was such a terrible business move and thus, I refuse to support Sony gaming products. What a waste. I'm going Xbox or Wii from now on.. In reply to: "Rumor: PS3 Slim to be manufactured in July?"

Agree with you that the design is, shall we say, less than awe inspiring. Strongly agree with you on the 'MyTouch' name. PR dropped the ball here and is simply awful. Okay, Apple has the iPod Touch and so Google names their new phone the 'MyTouch'. I really like what Google does here but this is a half-@ss job and truth be told, I expected much better.. Going to have to disagree with you there. Most phones tend to make adequate calls but several factors separate them to cater to different audiences. Some phones have bigger brighter screens, some are flip/candy bar style, some are very durable, some are feature packed with various apps, and finally design is an important element for many people.
I can appreciate tasteful design - I am not a big Apple fan but I will admit they they make excellent software and design and simple and clean. Nokia has added some flair in some recent offerings and Samsung and LGE devote tremendous resources to make their handsets stand out with unique design. Just like people care what clothing, cars, watch, shoes look like, there will be people who also care what their phone looks like. In an extreme case, you could even argue that the phone you use, in some ways, reflects the type of person you are..

@ Tim:
It's not all about you. This information is useful and insightful to others - myself included. You have to dig a bit deeper than the surface to see he makes his point very clear.

I have never used Slacker but sounds interesting. Currently, I am working outside the US so the lack of this key feature does not make this device compelling. I don't necessarily love Apple products (I don't think iTunes is the greatest things since slice bread and no Macs in my home) but they make slick devices with that minimalist look i prefer.
I own a few iPods from Shuffle thru Classic and there is absolutely nothing that would bring me back to Sony. Plus, looks are subjective and I personally think that speckled housing looks so unbelievably cheesy.. That supposed to be 'simulated granite'? Just awful imo..

Dang, I've just built up a half decent DVD library and am very content with the video quality from DVD's. There are actually some Blu-ray movies I have seen that really, weren't all that much better than DVD.
The price premium for Blu-ray is not worth replacing my entire library for a marginal increase in viewing pleasure - but hey, perhaps I represent the minority. If Blu-ray could still go the way of the Betamax - it is possible..

I would also say don't buy Sony, tho not for the same reason as tek-ed. Simply because, to me, their quality control has gone down SIGNIFICATLY over the past decade and I no longer recommend Sony anything to anyone. A shame as my home was Sony-everything. From TV's to phones to alarm clocks to PlayStation but have had customer service problems (Super VHS, to car stereo to TV to monitors) Now? Except for the alarm clock, nothing Sony.. Wow, most of the comments and seeing more backlash against CNET that I had expected. I am not a huge Apple Fan but have a few iPods for different purposes (I would gladly buy from a competitor if they had a better product FOR MY NEEDS).
I am by no means very loyal to Microsoft but use Windows XP and other peripherals from the behemoth.
With respect to the Zune, personally I am not a fan as I would feel ripped off by capping the number of wireless songs that can be transferred. If Microsoft wants to win sizeable market share from Apple, they need innovation. Capping transfers to 3 songs or a certain timeframe is a dumb move in my opinion. If it was unlimited, I could see a LOT of people buying this - myself included.
Oh well, I know the iPod is probably not the best player BFTB but it is a good looking device that works decently and has developed into a solid brand. For the record, I think iTunes works satisfactorily but could be a lot easier to use..

This car certainly not for anyone but kudos for being brave to try something different. I don't see too many crossover concepts sporting gull-wing doors.. Props for that. In reply to: "Two new cars from Korea, with love"
