cshefman, that is exactly how i got my key. The only problem I have been having, ironically, is actually getting the iso to download from microsoft. The most I have been able to download on the 32bit version is 400MB. It stops right after that. (When I try to click download on the Windows 7 key page, absolutely nothing comes up either)

Try one of the many torrent sites. I've seen confirmations that the .iso floating around the torrents as build 7000 is the same release as the public one from the MS website.

Ok, I think I might try that. I just went back to that key page and got another 32 bit key. I now have two windows 7 beta keys and a 64 bit key!!!

It's back up, but the download does not seem to be working with Firefox. I had to use IE which then installs a download manager for the download.

On another note, I noticed that when I was redirected back to the download page, it gave me a new Product Key. Looks like if you refresh that page, it will generate a few different keys before repeating the sequence.

One more thing, apparently they solved their bandwidth issues... downloading at 1.5MB/sec so that's not too shabby after their rocky start.

What is it that causes MS devotees to keep expecting THIS version to be the living end, the program to end all and (most of all) bug-free? Denial is not a river in Egypt. Yes, MS7 will no doubt be just what Vista users are looking for. Remember Vista? That was so good MS that MS rushed MS7 through a year too soon. Name ONE MS major release that did not require some major editing before it was even acceptable. Name one MS major release that wasn't a inferior copy of someone else's idea? Name one major program of MS that was truly innovative. MS owes their current success to hitting the market early with a cheap OS (and it still is) and no one will say "the Emperor doesn't have any clothes on!"

(Save yourselves the trouble of personal attacks. That generally indicates an individual who has no rebuttal.)

I am getting no love from the download page.

Question: should I be downloading from XP in VM or does MS no care that I am downloading to a mac?

A beta download site for a beta OS for beta users. That's what MS really is.

I already downloaded it and i'm running it on a vm(virtual machine), it's nothing special, but IE has a cool feature, when your downloading files it shows you the progress in the taskbar

Where's Microsoft's bugtracker? In other words, if I downloaded the beta and tested it out, how do I report bugs back to Microsoft?

I have tried windows 7 and I think Microsoft made a big mistake. All they are trying to do is put more "Eye Candy" into there OS, making it sluggish. I would never sacrifice speed for "Eye Candy". I am sticking with good, old, XP. I know that "its just a beta" but Vista still has lots of problems and it crashed this morning so I formatting back to XP. If you want a very stable OS I would suggest *nix ( http://www.ubuntu.com/ or http://fedoraproject.org/ )
Also I keep hearing different stories on if Microsoft is going to release 7 as an update to vista or as a whole new OS. Its just stupid to go out and buy a $200-400 (however much) OS after you just upgraded last year.
Im bout to give up on Microsoft. Just too much of a hassel. :/

i believe the link is up again but BE SURE TO USE INTERNET EXPLORER to download the ISO as you need to install an ActiveX Plugin. i have already downloaded the file and am going to install it as soon as i have the time. you might have to refresh the page a few times.

I downloaded this 2,4GB Windows 7, 22 hours ago and installed it. To be honest, I never experience Vista. I mean I am still using XP SP3 as of now. It is not as impressed as I expected, though. In pentum 4, 1GB memory, it is much slower than XPSP3. I tried two times to install my Photoshop CS3 but still failed to do so. Actually I was hoping that they change the taskbar into a bit of Mac dock style as I saw in many pre windows 7 screenshot in some webstes. I will see how good it is in the next one or two weeks, since I just use it less than 10 hours. Cheers!
