I think it?s great that Sony is pushing out new tech.... it will help drive down the cost for LCD & Plasma even more!

In 2006 I bought a 1080i 32" Samsung LCD for $2000... now I can get a 46"+ 1080p for almost the same price!!!

We'll never grow if we don't keep innovating! * Someday this could become the standard!

(I personally will be happy with a 50"+ 1080p LCD/Plasma to go with my HDTV & PS3!)

I had a chance to see the small OLED Tv''s in November at a Sony show in Honolulu. Whlle a beautiful display, it won't really be practical for home TV use until it can be made into a larger screen size at a price that , at least comes close to, that of existing large screens (plasma). I can see the evolution to be much the same as LCD displays, laptops and small displays first, then onto bigger things. It's just that it won't take as long as it did LCDs to "mature".

Doesn't everyone remember when the first 42" plasma TVs were ED 480P and cost over $12,000.00 and went to half life in about five years? Five years from now you will have 60" OLED,s mounted in a picture frame that cost 3000.00 with the electronics hidden in a closet somewhere.

When I can get a 50" screen for under $2k, I'm in.... I guess I'll be waiting for a very long time... LOL.

After seeing this TV everything else seems blurry. Spent 10 minutes or so watching this TV at CES and now I am tainted. The best LCDs and Plasmas look blurry and washed out. Can't wait for a 60inch OLED!!!

Sony showed this SAME 11-inch OLED screen a year ago. Not impressed. After a year, it remains a tiny, outrageously expensive toy with a very short screen life compared to any other technology out there. R&D would be better spent on laser tech.

When you see one, you'll want one. Ratios and numbers mean nothing. Seeing is believing. All naysayers will eat their words.
