LG G Flex flexes its bendy 6-inch screen
LG Electronics will launch its G Flex smartphone in the US in the next three months, but don't expect to find the curved smartphone in the biggest mobile carrier's lineup.
LG G Flex is a Sprint Spark enabled smartphone, according to a Sprint representative.
Frank Lee, head of LG's mobile business, said Monday that the G Flex will debut in the US in the first quarter and will be available through three major carriers: Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile. The Korean electronics maker unveiled the news at a press conference in Las Vegas as part of the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show.
LG has struggled to compete with bigger Korean rivals like Samsung, but it's starting to get a better foothold in the market, thanks to a partnership with Google. The Nexus 4 smartphone from last year was a hit, selling out online, and reviewers have praised October's release, the Nexus 5.
Despite the Nexus-stoked gains, LG still faces heated competition and slowing growth for high-end smartphones .
