Haier is no stranger to the HDTV market, however CNET has as of yet only reviewed one HDTV from the company. Kind of weird seeing as how Haier is the official HDTV of the NBA.

We'll soon have a chance to make it up to the NBA, though, as this week Haier is introducing two new HDTVs. The 47-inch HL47XT1 and the 42-inch HL42XT1 each have a 120Hz refresh rate and LED backlights. Each also includes SRS TruSurround XT Sound and four HDMI ports. In addition, each TV has a Sound Chamber-hidden speaker with a separate bass port, a tweeter, and mid-range speakers.

No word yet on respective prices and as for availability, for now, Haier has only stated 2009.

Check below for full specs.

  • Full-HD LCD HDTV with LED Backlight
  • 1920x1080 resolution
  • 10 bit LCD panel with 1.07 billion colors
  • 120 Hz with MEMC
  • Static Contrast: 1400:1
  • Response time: 5.0ms
  • 4 HDMI, 2 component, 2 AV and 1 PC inputs
  • USB Input for jpeg, MP3
  • Sound Chamber-hidden speaker with SRS TruSurround XT Sound
  • 2x10W output
  • Swivel stand
  • Universal remote

Eric Franklin refused to write a bio, saying, "Why are you bothering me about this bio business again? If I wanted people to know more about me, I'd send them to the Inside CNET Labs Podcast" (shameless plug). E-mail Eric.

About CES

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the world's largest consumer electronics trade show. CES 2009 is scheduled for January 8 through 11 in Las Vegas, and it will feature thousands of exhibitors showcasing their latest tech products. CNET's team of reporters and reviewers will be at the show, covering technology's heavy hitters and previewing thousands of products before they are released to the public.

Each year, CNET, in partnership with the Consumer Electronics Association, produces the Best of CES awards at the International Consumer Electronics Show. The CNET editorial team recognizes the best new products at the show with awards in 10 categories, an overall Best of Show award, and the People's Voice award, which is selected by CNET's online audience.
